Lifestyle Protector
What would happen to you and your family if you fell ill or had to leave work due to an accident or sickness? For example, where would the money come from? Then here’s the good news – the Lifestyle Protector Plan gives you peace of mind knowing that if you’re unable to work due to an accident or sickness, you’ll still receive a regular monthly income.
What is the Lifestyle Protector?
If you fell ill or had to leave work due to an accident or sickness, have you thought about how you’d cover the costs of your mortgage and everyday household bills?
Here’s where the Lifestyle Protector Plan can help. For example, it gives you a regular monthly income to help provide for your family’s needs – from the simple things in life such as keeping a roof over your heads and food on the table, to ensuring your household bills are up-to-date, as well as all those expenses you incur every day.
Moreover, the plan includes added protection – lump sum benefits to cover you against death and serious illness. So in conclusion, the Lifestyle Protector gives you the peace of mind knowing that if the worst was to happen, you and your family will be covered.
Lifestyle Protector highlights

Guaranteed cover - providing you're eligible for the plan, you're guaranteed cover under our moratorium clause
Flexible plan with a wide range of deferred periods
No medical underwriting - it’s quick and easy to apply and obtain cover. What's more, no medical questionnaires or examinations are required, and there's no waiting for GP reports to process your application
Standard benefits: what's included?
Accident and sickness benefit
Cash benefits between €300 and €3,000 monthly.
If you’re unable to work due to accident or sickness, your policy will start to pay you benefits once your deferred period has elapsed (choose from 14, 30 or 90 days). What’s more, you’ll receive this benefit for up to 12 months and the built-in Waiver of Premium feature means that any premiums you pay during your claim period will be refunded to you.
Nevertheless, the maximum monthly benefit available is 60% of your gross monthly income if you’re employed, or 60% of your taxable monthly income if you‘re self employed.
Hospitalisation benefit
Cash benefits between €30 and €300 daily.
If you are hospitalised for more than 48 hours, the policy will pay you 10% of your monthly benefit for each subsequent 24 hours that you remain in hospital. And furthermore, this is payable for up to 30 days per policy year.
In addition, you will still receive your monthly benefit.
Specified Illness benefit
Cash benefit of up to €36,000.
If you are diagnosed with any of the following conditions, we will pay your claim along with a lump sum payment of 12 times your monthly benefit to help you get back on your feet again: Cancer (excluding less advanced cases), Cardiac Arrest, Stroke, Loss of Independent Existence, Alzheimer’s Disease and Aorta Graft Surgery.
Additional benefits
Death Benefit – cash benefit of €25,000
Whether you die as a result of an accident or of natural causes, this feature pays your estate a lump sum. For example, the lump sum can be used towards funeral costs, as well as any debts you leave behind, and provides your family with additional peace of mind.
Terminal Illness cover – cash benefit of €25,000
If you are advised that you are to die within 12 months of diagnosis of a terminal illness, we will pay you a lump sum.
What's not included?
In common with other accident and sickness plans, here are some of the key exclusions. Therefore, please refer to the Policy Document in the Literature Library for a full list of exclusions.
Pre-existing / chronic conditions
Normal pregnancy and birth, selected back conditions, stress and depression
Injury suffered as a result of alcohol or drugs, or due to war, radiation or earthquakes
Deliberate actions such as criminal activity
How was your claim experience?
Piotr Pelczynski is an insurance broker and wanted to share his experience with us. Piotr says:
“I want to share my experience of a recent claim for an accident and sickness policy.
The claim form together with all necessary attachments were emailed to the claim handler, Davies Group, on Friday 19 February 2021 at 11:30am. The claim was fully assessed and a claim settlement offer letter sent back to me and my client on the same day at 4pm! I have been an insurance broker for 15 years and have never before seen a claim assessed so quickly. That is so far above the standard turnaround time one could expect. Well done everyone! As you can imagine, my client was so happy to receive money for her illness in her time of need.”
